Over the past year, Hyundai New Zealand says these individuals demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing their expertise in the diagnosis and repair of electric vehicles.

“We’re incredibly proud of James, Adith, and Vince,” Hyundai New Zealand chief executive Scott Kelsey says.

“Their achievement represents a significant step forward as we welcome more customers to electric vehicles. Skilled technicians are essential to the success of our EV strategy, and we’re thrilled to see the next generation leading the charge

MITO supports on-the-job learning for New Zealanders working in practical fields, including the automotive industry.

Facilitated in collaboration between Hyundai New Zealand (HMNZ) and MITO, the course is a joint venture that reflects a shared commitment to future mobility and technician development.

It is tailored to meet the specific needs of the New Zealand market and automotive industry, delivering practical, hands-on training that aligns with Hyundai’s standards.

The nationally recognised programme equips qualified automotive technicians with the skills and knowledge to safely inspect, service, and repair light electric vehicles.

As the number of EVs has accelerated across New Zealand in recent years, this qualification ensures that the Hyundai dealer network is prepared to support customers in their transition to a more sustainable future.
