The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) will be carrying out maintenance work on State Highway (SH) 1 through the Brynderwyn Hills overnight on Sunday July 26.
The routine work on the south side of the hill will include repairing potholes, clearing drains, re-erecting road signs that have been damaged as well as cleaning signs to improve their visibility.
To reduce the impact on road users the work will be done from 6pm to 6am when traffic flows are considerably less than during the day.
Where possible two lanes of traffic will remain open but motorists and truck drivers are advised there will be some small sections where there will be only one lane open.
“Please observe the speed limits and drive to the conditions through this winding uphill section,” says the NZTA.
