On top of that, the company has announced plans to more broadly support local rallying, becoming the naming sponsor for the VINZ International Rally of Whangarei.

“It has been absolutely wonderful to see Hayden succeed,” says Willett. “We are pleased to have been part of a network of sponsors that have assisted him.

“We are also pleased that Hayden wants to continue with us into this new venture,” he says. “Personally, I am looking forward to seeing the VINZ logo on a car and driver package at the top level of the sport.”
His group of sponsors also includes Pak ’n’ Save and Placemakers.

Willett says not only does the brand get local exposure, many of their customers, including those of its broader JEVIC parent, are overseas where the sport will also be seen.

Meanwhile the company is pleased to put its name to the Whangerei Rally – part of the 2014 FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship.

The weekend competition covers 595km, including 14 special stages in both the Far North and Whangarei regions – using roads renowed for their flowing nature and cambered style.

Teams travel to and from each of the closed sections of road needing to abide by the same road rules and regulations as any other road user – meaning the company will need to inspect the vehicles for a warrant of fitness.

“We’re thrilled to have VINZ extend their support to the backing of this international event, which will further their profile as an automotive business with a sporting synergy,” says Laurie Brenssell, chairman of the VINZ International Rally of Whangarei organising committee.
