Vehicle Inspection New Zealand chief executive Gordon Shaw is raising more than $4485 through a Give-a-Little Campaign which saw him shaving the hair off his head as well as all of his facial hair for the Cancer Society today.
Assisted by Cancer Society community fundraising co-ordinator Sue Beuvink and two other members of VINZ staff, Shaw lost his beard, and his hair was shorn down to a number 1 cut at the VINZ head office in Mount Wellington.

VINZ is taking up the challenge of Movember with some site and national events planned, so in the lead up to this challenge, Shaw decided to get involved by putting his head of hair on the line for charity as well.
“I wanted to be part of Movember. However, there was one problem. I had a full head of hair and a full beard, so it all has to go in the lead up to Movember,” says Shaw.
“I have lost friends and family to cancer, so I chose the Cancer Society as the charity to raise funds for, and my target goal for the Give-A-Little shave campaign was $2500 initially,” says Shaw.
“I am truly grateful for all donations received, thanks to everyone who has donated to my cause,” he says.
