Vehicle imports are up 161.4% year-on-year with a total of 29,991 arrivals hitting the wharves in June compared to 11,472 in the same period a year prior.
The total number of passenger vehicles was up 148.3% y/y with 24,036 arrivals in June compared to 9677 the year prior, according to New Zealand Customs Motor Vehicle Statistics.
Total truck and van imports were up 236.3% y/y with 5839 arrivals for the month compared with 1736 the year prior.
This includes 5383 new commercial vehicles with 428 units over 3500kg GVM and 4955 units under 3500kg GVM.
Used commercials had a total of 456 arrivals in June with 40 units over 3500kg GVM and 416 units under 3500kg GVM.
A total of 116 buses and coaches arrived in June compared with 59 the year prior. This includes 64 new buses and coaches and 52 used.
