A long-running director of key automotive industry companies has passed away.
Michael Dossor passed away Thursday following a period of illness.
Dossor was a director of Turners Auctions since its listing in 2002 and was Chairman from 2003 until its takeover by Turners Limited in November 2014.
He oversaw some major changes and steady growth in performance of the Turners Auctions business over that time.
Dossor was also a board member of Vehicle Inspection New Zealand between 2004 and 2013. He was elected deputy chairman in November 2004 and held that position until his resignation.
He was managing Director of Turners & Growers before retiring in 2005. He was a director of Turners & Growers, McKay Shipping Limited and investment company Bartel Holdings Limited.
“Michael was totally supportive of Turners Auctions becoming part of the larger Turners Limited Group and he contributed actively and positively to the wider business since his appointment to the Turners Limited Board in January 2015,” Turners deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Byrnes said in a statement.
VINZ chief executive Gordon Shaw says:
“The Board and staff of VINZ extend our deepest condolences to the Dossor family at this time.”
