TR Group is introducing a trucking relay competition to the TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show taking place in Christchurch on March 8, 2025.

The relay event was first held in 2018 and was a huge hit for spectators. Next year’s competition will feature an updated format that promises to entertain and challenge.

“This lively competition will give trucking professionals a chance to showcase their skills in an action-packed test of coordination, teamwork, and a little friendly rivalry,” organisers say.

The trucking relay will feature a series of tasks focusing on loading, truck manoeuvring, and teamwork. Each team will include three competitors, bringing their unique skills to the table.

Teams of three competitors include:

Truck driver (Class 2) – Steering the team’s success on the road.

Team leader – No formal qualifications needed, just strong leadership.

Forklift driver – Licensed and ready to handle loading duties.

Adding to the fun, participants are encouraged to dress to impress in coordinated team uniforms or creative costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed teams, so competitors should come ready to make a memorable impression.

The event will be MC’d by Mark Harvey who is always ready to engage in a bit of banter with the audience.

Registrations are now open with limited spaces available. Teams are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. Each team will need a unique team name, adding an extra touch of personality to the competition.
