Truck-mounted crane competition seeks industry’s best

Palfinger NZ will be sponsoring a truck-mounted crane competition at next year’s TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show which will be the first event of its kind in New Zealand.

It will feature a world-class course that will be set up so that competitors can showcase their skills and measure their abilities against those of their peers. Organisers say a competition of this scale has not been done in New Zealand before.

The event will take place at the TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show being held at the Canterbury Agriculture Park in Christchurch from March 11-12, 2022.

The course will be set up with grandstands so the public and supporters will be able to follow the day’s activities. The awards presentation will take place later that evening on the Teletrac Navman lawn during the Industry Awards Ceremony.

On the Friday, during the Careers Trucking Showcase, students will be able to see demonstrations that will hopefully inspire them to enquire about career opportunities.

Entries are now open and only experienced current operators working in the industry can compete with limited first in first served entries.

Palfinger NZ general manager Duncan Phillips says the team is very excited to see the competition come together.

“Seeing all the highly skilled operators come together to compete, it is going to be a spectacle and a lot of fun,” he says.
