Nigel Moffiet is our new Transporttalk editor.
Transporttalk is the new name from January 1 for Auto Media Group’s Dieseltalk online and monthly magazine presence.
Moffiet has long had a transport industry interest, and has a heavy traffic licence after working part-time in construction.
He comes to Transporttalk after four years with Fairfax Auckland community newspapers, notably the Manukau Courier and the Papakura Courier, where transport issues were part of his round.
Previously, Moffiet completed a post-graduate degree in journalism at the Auckland University of Technology and worked on a student newspaper.
“Transport’s an exciting industry, with a lot of changes ahead,” he says.
“I’m interested in how it will all work in the future.”
Moffiet says transport is an important part of how the community runs.
He’s keen to meet and hear from people in the industry, and will be attending the Road Transport Forum annual conference in Hamilton on November 10 and 11.
