Transport Well New Zealand is launching a new initiative aimed at giving everyone in the transport and logistics sector the opportunity to raise the issues affecting their businesses and workplaces.

The “What BUGS You Most?” campaign will debut at the Teletrac Navman New Zealand Transport Industry Conference in Christchurch on August 22, inviting transport operators, drivers, warehouse staff, mechanics, recovery operators, dispatchers, managers, suppliers and other industry participants to identify the challenges they believe need attention.

Transport Well says the initiative is designed to collect industry feedback, identify common themes and work with stakeholders to develop practical solutions.

Transport Well trustee Carol McGeady says the goal is to ensure every part of the industry has a voice.

“Every day we hear from operators, drivers, warehouse teams, mechanics, recovery operators, suppliers and business owners about the challenges they face.

“‘What BUGS You Most?’ is about giving everyone across the industry a voice, not just the loudest voices or just the industry organisations. We want to identify the issues that matter most, bring people together, and work collaboratively to find practical solutions that benefit the whole industry.”

McGeady says Transport Well was established as an independent charitable trust to support the wider transport industry.

“We don’t represent one group over another, we’re here to support safer, more productive and more profitable transport businesses throughout New Zealand.”

Conference delegates will be invited to write their concerns on dedicated display boards throughout the event. Transport Well will then analyse all submissions, prepare a summary of the key themes and use the findings to guide future projects, advocacy and discussions with industry stakeholders.

The trust says businesses and individuals unable to attend the conference can also take part by submitting their feedback via email, with all responses to be included in the review.

Transport Well says the initiative aligns with its broader focus on improving collaboration across the industry and builds on programmes including TruckSafe New Zealand, HARMfree Transport & Logistics, the Trauma Recovery Programme, Warehouse Safety and Careers Transport.

The Teletrac Navman New Zealand Transport Industry Conference will be held at The Majestic on Durham in Christchurch on August 22, bringing together transport operators, regulators, suppliers and industry leaders to discuss compliance, safety, workforce development, wellbeing and business performance.
