A new heavy vehicle driver training programme designed to teach roll prevention, as well as stability and control is launching at Hampton Downs, near Auckland on August 17.
TR Master Driver Services in partnership with Gough Transpecs will be unveiling its Roll Prevention heavy vehicle stability and control driver training programme.
According to TR Master Drive Services, it owns New Zealand’s sole heavy commercial training vehicle designed specifically to address the causes of roll-overs and help reduce the risk for drivers and all road users.
The company says that all drivers of a rigid truck/full trailer combination in any application ought to take the course, where they will experience how easily a roll over can occur and then learn the skills to avoid it happening.
In partnership with Gough Transpecs, TR Master Drive Services deliver a course focused on both practical and technical skills by employing state of the art technology.
The company says the WABCO Intelligent Trailer technology has a vast range of safety and operational benefits.
“It combines the very best in EBS (electronic brake system) to optimise trailer performance whilst maintaining control and stability under all operating conditions,” says Gough Transpecs product manager John Hirst.
The trailer is also fitted with the ability to turn the various stability features off for training purposes. It is partnered with a late model Isuzu tractor unit with an automated transmission.
TR Master Drive Services says it is committed to ensuring it is: “Creating measurable change through world class driver training.”
