Covering 8,400m2 with the overall site sitting on 1.8ha, the purpose-built space will be double the size of the current premises.

The new facility will encompass both a freight forwarding and rail terminal and will provide operational growth along with safety improvements.

“Safety, capacity and efficiency will be the immediate gains for our Wellington operation once we complete construction of the new freight terminal in Wellington,” Wellington branch manager Paul Tawharu says.

“The new building will be double the size of the existing building. Not only does this future proof for growth – it means we will be able to pursue new customers, as we can scale up considerably,” he says.

Construction is now underway and the site is expected to be completed mid-2020.
