The TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show scheduled for Christchurch on March 5-6, 2027 has been postponed, with organisers now looking towards holding the event in 2028.
Organisers say continued economic pressure on the transport industry, rising event costs and another major automotive event being held in Christchurch on the same weekend contributed to the decision.
The competing automotive event will also be free to attend.
“When we considered these factors together, we simply did not feel confident proceeding and asking our exhibitors, sponsors and partners to make a significant investment unless we could deliver the attendance, exposure and value they deserve,” organisers say.
They stress the show has been postponed rather than cancelled.
Moving to 2028 would also shift the TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show away from the same-year cycle as the Brisbane Truck Show.
“Following COVID, our event cycle shifted. This decision gives us the opportunity to look towards 2028, which would also mean the TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show would no longer be held in the same year as the Brisbane Truck Show.
“We are hopeful that by then the economy will have strengthened and we can come back with an even bigger and better event for our industry and the public.”
Organisers thanked exhibitors, sponsors, partners, trucking companies and supporters for their backing of the event.
“The support and loyalty shown to this event over the years has been incredible, and that is exactly why we have made this decision now. We want to protect what makes this Show special and make sure that when we bring everyone together again, we do it properly.”
All deposits and payments already made for the 2027 show will be refunded in full.
