According to CNET.Com, Musk brought up the Tesla Semi plan during the USA summer of 2016, when he unveiled his “master plan.” which also included the possibility of a Tesla EV pick-up truck in the next twelve to eighteen months.

Musk said the EV Semi Truck would be “really fun to operate,” but according to CNET.Com journalist Andrew Krok further information on the Class 8 Tesla vehicle hasn’t materialised, whether through official channels or leaks.

In his article Krok also says the current head of Tesla’s semi-truck efforts, Jerome Guillen, used to helm Daimler’s Cascadia truck programme.
