Team Global Express has partnered with New Zealand Food Network (NZFN) to provide logistics support for the charity’s nationwide food distribution network.
Under the agreement, Team Global Express will use its transport network to help NZFN distribute food to its 64 Food Hubs across New Zealand and the communities they serve.
NZFN chief executive Gavin Findlay says the partnership will help the organisation move large volumes of surplus food quickly and efficiently around the country.
“Managing bulk surplus food is a massive operation, and the food needs to get out to our Food Hubs across the country quickly and efficiently so it can be distributed to local communities,” Findlay says.
“Partnerships like this help us to ease the burden of food insecurity and get good, nutritious food to the people who need it most. With its network of branches across Aotearoa, Team Global Express truly understands the communities we serve, and that makes all the difference.”
The partnership comes as NZFN’s inaugural Hunger Monitor found one in three New Zealand households had experienced some form of food insecurity during the past year.

Team Global Express chief commercial officer Piyush Pahade says the company selected NZFN as a partner because of a shared commitment to ensuring food reaches people who need it.
“At Team Global Express, we believe in doing business in a way that’s good for our people, good for our customers and good for the local communities we serve,” Pahade says.
“We’re proud to put our network to work for such an important cause, and we look forward to our teams getting hands-on to support the incredible work NZFN does every day.”
The organisations say the partnership is also aimed at reducing food waste and improving the efficiency of New Zealand’s transport network by maximising fleet utilisation.
Since its establishment, NZFN says it has prevented more than 73 million kilograms of CO2-equivalent emissions from entering the atmosphere through its food rescue activities.
Beyond freight services, Team Global Express will introduce NZFN to customers with potential surplus food stock and provide staff volunteers to assist with sorting and distributing food parcels.
NZFN is New Zealand’s largest food support charity, distributing donated food through a network of 64 Food Hubs and more than 2,000 frontline organisations nationwide.
