New Zealand MAN and Western Star distributor MAN Automotive Imports (MAINZ) is set to expand its network with TCV Trucks opening a new service centre in Wiri, Auckland.

The new facility marks a significant change for the brands – with TCV taking over from the Gough Group in providing service for the Auckland region.

MAINZ general manager, Jason Cann, was complimentary about the outgoing provider.

“Goughs have done a fantastic job in servicing Western Star trucks and MAN trucks and buses up until now and they have aided in the brand’s success to date providing a high level of professional service,” says Cann.

“However with both companies now promoting competing brands a mutual decision to focus specifically on our own products has us parting company amicably.”

The Gough Group will still handle service work and support for the Auckland region up until the handover to TCS on May 1 2013.

MAN sales increased 30% in 2012, primarily in the on-highway segment, with a large number of new Auckland based key customers. MAINZ also expects to put 100 new Western Star trucks on the road this year.

“With the huge growth in sales, particularly in the Auckland region of both Western Star & MAN, we have an obligation to our customers and what better way to provide that assurance but to open our own operation for these wonderful premium quality brands.” says Cann.

He continues; “We looked seriously at several support options in Auckland before we decided the best way to look after our customers was to start our own facility,

“That way we as the distributor have direct control over management of the operation and we can provide the investment and passion required to make sure the job is done right.”

Hiring of staff has commenced and the new TCV Trucks service centre is expected to be up and running well in time for the handover date of May 1 2013.
