While Resene is a well known brand of paint for application on domestic and commercial buildings, not many people are aware that the company has an automotive and light industrial arm that caters to truck and passenger vehicle collision repairers, sandblasters, engineering workshops, trailer manufacturers, and a nationwide fleet care network of truck applicators.
Resene Automotive and Light Industrial or RALI, (www.rali.co.nz) also looks after the corporate image of large clients such as Air New Zealand and Toll Holdings, through a national network of 14 branches and a select number of resellers.
RALI supplies its own Kiwi manufactured line of products such as Cromax, Cromax Pro, Cromax Imron Fleet Line, and Durapox to industrial and marine customers, as well as the industrial lines from DuPont.
The Cromax Imron Fleet Line is a comprehensive range of locally manufactured products including primers, urethanes, enamels, flexible coatings for curtain-siders, rust inhibitors and truck wash products.
As well as 20 mobile direct service vans, RALI also has a fully set up mobile waterborne paint laboratory that can formulate, mix and spray Cromax Pro independently on any vehicle in any suitable business throughout NZ.
RALI marketing manager Jo-Anne de Villiers says a significant point of difference is that the company has technical experts supporting the sales team, who will visit clients to help solve any issues and processes they may be experiencing.
The company offers customers assistance with colour formula retrieval and matching tools as well as support and information, plus help with application faults and cures, as well as ongoing training in applications as well as general business practice.
“We are all about best practise, and we’ll work through our systems and processes to find the solution for a customer,” says de Villiers. “We can’t sell you the paint if the substrate is not suited to it, not everything is an off-the-shelf solution.”
RALI has the advantage of having it’s own chemists and research and development specialists in house.
The company also hosts a Fleetcare applicator conference annually, which is normally held in September but instead this year it will be held in conjunction with the Brisbane Truck show in May.
de Villiers says the conference will not only address a list of action plans from the previous conference, but delegates will also get the opportunity to address issues such as human resources, marketing, compliance, health and safety and other business-related issues.
“Past Fleetcare network conferences have always been very popular with our clients and their partners. Many are small business operators who work in the business together, so it gives them a great opportunity not only to get away from the business for a break, but also the opportunity to network and share ideas and experiences with like minded people,” says de Villiers.
