Pukekohe based KPH Transport, a subsidiary of leading produce growers, NZ Hothouse Ltd, is looking to grow its fleet and raise the company profile in 2013.
KPH’s specialisation is providing fleet transport for produce distribution, and KPH general manager Paul Butler tells DIESELtalk that “KPH is one of the transport industry’s best kept secrets; there is a perception that KPH Transport caters largely for NZ Hothouse – we are looking to change all that.
NZ Hothouse is certainly a substantial customer, but it accounts for less than 35% of our business”, Butler says.
“We are experts in the transportation of produce and perishable goods”, he continues,
“Our association with NZ Hothouse means we understand the delicate and demanding requirements around fresh produce transportation”.
Butler sums up KPH’s strengths as being “transport specialists, produce experts”, which he says “more accurately captures our broader industry proposition.”
KPH has opened a new depot at Bombay with substantial chiller space, allowing produce customers to store and redistribute produce as and when required. Their 16 strong fleet, comprising mainly Scanias, travels from Auckland metro to Wellington daily.
