Queenstown’s Jacks Point was the setting for the 2014 dealer and sales conference dinner to celebrate the most successful year on record for PACCAR distributor Southpac Trucks.

An award was presented to Mike Gillespie for being the 2014 truck salesman of the year, while Mark Tucker won the 2014 DAF salesman of the year, and Adam Macintosh was awarded the 2014 Kenworth salesman of the year.

The event was attended by factory representatives from both Eindhoven, Holland and Bayswater Melbourne, as well as the entire Southpac dealer network including the truck sales team and customer service/administration and support team.

Southpac Trucks general sales manager Richard Smart says that 2014 again showed continued growth with both of the Paccar truck brands, and continued investment in the dealer network and also Southpac’s own facilities in Auckland.

“It’s the first time in 20 years of representing the PACCAR brands in NZ that we have sold 400 trucks in one year, another record DAF year at 208 sold, and our second best Kenworth year on record at 192,” says Smart.

“Of special note was Adam Macintosh’s 102 personal sales for the year, the highest on record for us.”

“This year sees us starting off with a complete rebuild of our Auckland truck sales and parts offices, coupled with very strong order demand.
“We have already placed some 145 trucks into production since the year began.”
