Sime Darby Motor Group (NZ) subsidiary Truck Stops (NZ) Limited is completing an agreement to purchase Blenheim truck servicing business, Transmar Services.
The acquisition of Transmar Services will expand New Zealand’s largest commercial vehicle servicing network.
Sime Darby Motors Australia and New Zealand managing director Patrick McKenna says the acquisition is in line with the group’s strategy to focus on the expansion of its car and commercial truck retailing footprints in New Zealand and Australia.
“Growing the New Zealand nationwide network to extend the convenient and efficient servicing of the Sime Darby Commercial Groups franchise family of Hino, Volvo, Mack and UD trucks has always been our objective. Adding the strategic Blenheim location to the existing Truck Stops’ network is very fulfilling,” says McKenna.
“Throughout the sale process, it has been our priority to ensure that Transmar Services employees would be offered employment within Truck Stops,” he says.
“The inclusion of the Blenheim business brings the total number of Truck Stops branches throughout New Zealand to 17, making us the largest wholly-owned truck servicing network in the country,” says McKenna.
The Blenheim operation will commence trading as Truck Stops on 3 July.
