Sime Darby has called for applications for the role of general manager for its commercial service division.
The firm’s trucking investments include Truck Investments Limited, Hino Distributors, Motor Truck Distributors, UD Truck Distributors and the Truck Stops chain.
The search is being managed by Russell Phillips of Automotive Employment New Zealand who says it is rare to see such a position being made available in the New Zealand market.
“In 21 years of recruitment we have never represented a role of this seniority in the service sector,” says Phillips. “To say they do not come up is untrue, but such a strategic role is rare.”
“For Sime Darby Commercial, this role leads the entire New Zealand service operations and is arguably the most important role as far as service operations in that group,” Phillips says. “The multiple brands that Sime Darby represent make them one of the largest retailers of new trucks.”
The position is being advertised both locally and internationally, with initially listings in AutoTalk, DieselTalk.co.nz, Seek and TradeMe.
Look for the advertisement in the DieselTalk section of AutoTalk magazine out Monday
