Ford New Zealand is launching two exclusively Shadow Black limited edition FX4 Ranger and FX2 Everest vehicles in time for the upcoming Lions rugby tour.
Arriving at dealerships from May 1, the Ranger FX4 is limited to 200 vehicles available in New Zealand, and the Everest FX2 is limited to 50 units.
Ford New Zealand light commercial and SUV marketing manager Jeremy Nash says it is a tough ask taking a car that is already a winning combination of capability and design and making it even better.
“The style and design of Ranger FX4 makes a great ute even more extraordinary, and that’s a difficult thing to do with a vehicle that has won so many awards including the NZAA and Motoring Writers’ Guild’s best in class five years in a row,” says Nash.
“The designers have risen to the challenge though and done a great job with this one. We don’t expect the stock to last long,” says Nash.
Based on the Ranger XLT, Ford is adding 18-inch Stark Grey alloy wheels, black roof rails, black bonnet and tailgate decal wraps, ‘FX4’ branding, black sports bar, rear bumper, side steps and door handles, black grille, fog lamp bezels, exterior mirrors and fender features to create the FX4.
Inside the FX4 there is leather accented ‘FX4’ branded seats, front and rear carpet mats, and black interior highlights.
The Ranger FX4 has recommended retail price of $65,390.
Based on the Everest Trend, the FX2 not only arrives as a special edition with a similar treatment as the Ranger FX4 but it is also the introduction of a rear wheel drive version to the current all-wheel drive range.
The FX2 is limited to only 50 vehicles and features enhancements including leather seat trim with ‘FX2’ logo, 18-inch semi-gloss depth graphite alloy wheels, tinted windows, black front grille, black roof rails, and black painted front and rear guard badges.
The Ford Everest FX2 has a recommended retail price of $69,990.
