Truck manufacturer Scania has unveiled a full range of new trucks at Sydney’s International Convention Centre.
The New Truck Generation (NTG) was showcased on Wednesday and was the first time the company has launched an entire range all at once.
It’s also the first launch of the vehicles in the southern hemisphere and arrives as Scania celebrates its biggest annual sales in its 45-year Australian history.
Following the European market introduction in 2016 of the new generation truck range, CablePrice is working with Scania to evaluate variants of the model here in New Zealand.
Scania’s global head of truck sales Alexander Vlaskamp spoke at the event and says Australia is a very important market for the company.
Vlaskamp says Scania is working to develop greater levels of sustainability, focussing on energy efficiency, alternative fuels and electrification, and smart and safe transport, utilising increasing levels of digital services to provide higher uptime and vehicle utilisation.
Scania Australia managing director Mikael Jansson says the NTG range are the safest and most fuel-efficient trucks in Australia, providing at least 5% improved consumption and unique rollover side curtain airbag protection as standard.
