Scania New Zealand has secured the number one position in market share for heavy trucks for the fifth consecutive year in 2024.
With a market share of 22.9% and a total of 646 heavy trucks registered in 2024, the accomplishment comes despite challenges in the current economic environment.
“I’m incredibly proud of our team here at Scania New Zealand – to be number one for five consecutive year is a fabulous achievement,” managing director Victor Carvalho says.
“We also have the largest 10-year rolling fleet in the country, so these achievements are not only a testament to the team, but also to the loyalty of our valued customers, who have contributed to a successful year in what has been a challenging and competitive landscape,” Carvahlo says.
In addition to its dominance in the heavy truck sector, Scania is ranked among the top five brands for all new trucks and buses over 3500 kg, with 649 registrations. It underscores the brand’s strong presence in the overall market while focusing on heavy trucks above 16,000 kg GVM.
