Too address the rapidly growing number of vehicles fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF’s) in the Australasian market, Ryco is offering free training to upskill workshop technicians about this type of filter.
“Our aim is to provide workshops and resellers with the ability to access in-depth information on diesel particulate filters,” says Ryco Filters sales and marketing general manager Ross Lamb.
“It is becoming increasingly important for mechanics to be able to diagnose DPF faults accurately, and take the appropriate action,” says Lamb.
“Making the right diagnosis the first time can save customers the expense of replacing these costly items,” he says.
“We have developed three comprehensive training modules for the trade. These cover DPF construction and safety, how it works, as well as diagnostics to help mechanics upskill plus there is a strong emphasis on fault diagnosis,” says Lamb.
The training modules can be viewed online followed by a quick test to establish the level of learning achieved at the completion of each,” he says.
“We teamed up with leading online automotive training providers Automate, whose team of technical developers worked with us to develop not only the training videos but also a comprehensive internal train-the-trainer programme,” says Lamb.
“This programme will increase the ongoing professional development of GUD staff and fully induct and train sales and customer service teams before the launch,” he says.
“Providing ongoing learning and development opportunities is critical not only for our staff but for those that sell, service and fit the product and for mechanics whose current education planning can be difficult to schedule,” says Lamb.
“Each module is concise and contains the right level of technical information mechanics need without being too lengthy,” he says.
