Etrucks’ robotic battery swap station is being commissioned at its Penrose site in Auckland.
It’s using a remote for the swap function until the robot is established, says Etrucks director Ross Linton who thanks the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) for its support.
Linton says the battery swap station will be available to deploy with XCMG battery swap trucks and equipment.
Etrucks also now has permission to tow trailers with the first Windrose electric truck in New Zealand, he says, posting a video on his newsletter about the e-truck heading south past Lake Taupo.
“Climbing out of Taihape on a five-degree slope in ‘Eco’ mode at 58kmh using 47% of the available power. Regeneration going down this slope was a steady 200kW at 80kmh.”
