He brings more than 20 years of public transport experience, including senior finance, commercial and strategy roles across transport operators and authorities.

Thorne says he is proud to take on the role and build on the work already under way at Ritchies.

“We have an engaged team of more than 3000 people across New Zealand who understand the important role public transport plays in our communities and in the country’s transition to a lower-emissions future.

“I’m looking forward to working with them, our customers and our partners as we continue to strengthen the service we provide,” Thorne says.

Ritchies has also acknowledged Kernahan for her leadership and contribution to the business over the past four and a half years.
