The Renault Truck’s T is the International Truck of the Year 2015
It was chosen by a jury made up of 25 journalists from the international trade press.
Having collected a total of 129 points, 48 points ahead of its nearest rival, the Renault Truck’s T carried off the award at the IAA Commercial Vehicle show.
The jury judged that the Renault T is the vehicle that has made the greatest contribution to road transport efficiency this year.
The Renault T won on the basis of several criteria: technological innovations, comfort, safety, drive-ability, fuel economy, environmental footprint and total cost of ownership (TCO).
The jury highlighted its state-of-the-art aerodynamic solutions as well as the comfort provided for drivers both when at the wheel and when resting.
“The new T combines the best features found in Renault Trucks’ previously-successful models together with the advanced functions built-into its latest generation of heavy-duty products,” says jury president Gianenrico Griffini.
“The result is one of the most significant new truck launches for many years.”
Motor Truck Distributors is the sole New Zealand distributor for Renault Trucks and general manager Murray Sowerby says that this award shows the Renault product is evolutionary and is a great endorsement to the entirely new Renault Truck series.
Sowerby says that there continues to be strong interest in Renault trucks locally due to a high European truck specification that meets the needs of the New Zealand drivers and roads.
