Containers of Fuchs general purpose grease “Renolit EP 2” have been issued a recall by Fuchs Lubricants in Australia.

The recall notice published on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s bulletin refers to “Snow White Petroleum Jelly” packed into 2.5kg containers which could potentially have been delivered to dealerships service departments and independent workshops across Australia.

The ACCC warns the grease could potentially cause equipment to seize and pose safety risks to weight-bearing systems.

“If the wrong substance is used on rolling mechanical components, this could result in mechanical failure or overheating of machinery, potentially increasing the risk of an accident or injury,” Fuchs reports.

Fuchs strictly advises customers “should not use the product” and immediately “contact your supplier of Fuchs Lubricants (Australasia) Pty Ltd to receive a replacement product or full refund and to arrange collection of the product.”

The Renolit EP 2 was sold nationally from March 1, 2019 to June 26, 2019, and Fuchs Australasian can be contacted Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm AEST on 1800 1800 13 (Australia), 0800 382 476 (New Zealand) or via email at orders@fuchs.com.au.
