Three industrial buildings on adjacent sites are becoming available for lease in Penrose, which a government report has described as “the engine room of New Zealand’s industrial and manufacturing economy.”
The New Zealand Herald reports that three building at 65 Hugo Johnston Drive, 80 to 84 Hugo Johnston Drive, and 10 Autumn Place are available from early 2017 for lease collectively or individually.
The current tenant, Sistema Plastics is relocating to newly built premises in Airport Oaks on the corner of Oruarangi Road and Ihumatao Road to cater for its hugely expanding operations.
Colliers International agent Andrew Hooper told The New Zealand Herald the 2.9-hectare landholding in Penrose that Sistema is vacating is in a sought-after industrial precinct, and he is anticipating significant interest from potential tenants.
He says the vacancy presents a rare opportunity for businesses such as logistics, freight, and manufacturing.
The 9097 square metre property at 65 Hugo Johnston Drive encompasses a 6639 square metre office and warehouse complex.
The warehouse has an area of 5048 square metres, the office area being 1145 square metres and a control room/storage area of 146 square metres. The property also has yard area of 1331 square metres and a canopy area of 149 square metres.
Hooper says the complex is impressive with CBD-quality office space and modern high-stud warehousing with a minimum stud height of 7.5 metres and a maximum of 8.5 metres. “It also has drive-through capabilities, which would be well suited to distribution, office and warehousing businesses.”
