Flatpak is owned and operated by Emily Tasker, who is one of the original Young Enterprise Scheme entrepreneurs which created the product in 2012.

Tasker attends Ag Field Days throughout NZ and maintains a high profile amongst the Venture Up and Young Enterprise Schemes.

Kryten Vlug joined the Flatpak team at a Venture Up programme. He studies Creative Technologies at AUT University and travels with Tasker to national field days and steps in whenever an extra hand is needed.

The company was one of seven young entrepreneurs receiving a total of around $121,000 through Opportunities for Young People funding announced by Youth Minister Nikki Kaye.

Kaye made the announcement yesterday while attending the Young Enterprise Trust’s E-Day at Ellerslie Racecourse in Auckland, where school teams came to share ideas for products and businesses and get tips and feedback from local business experts.

Opportunities for Young People funding comes from the $2 million Youth Enterprise Fund launched in December 2014, which primarily supports organisations offering hands-on opportunities for young people to develop entrepreneurial skills.
