The Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTAANZ) has reached 100 members, doubling in size over the past three years with the addition of global infrastructure and mobility company Egis.
PTAANZ represents more than 150,000 workers across the multi- billion-dollar public transport sector in Australia and New Zealand.
Chair Sally Stannard says the milestone reflects increasing collaboration across the industry.
“Public transport is entering a defining decade across Australia and New Zealand. Investment is accelerating, community expectations are rising and the industry is working together in collaborative new ways.
“With cost-of-living pressures front of mind for many households, reliable, accessible and affordable public transport networks play an important role in keeping people connected to jobs, education and essential services without adding to household costs.
“Reaching 100 members highlights the strength of the sector and the value of bringing leaders together to champion ideas and help shape the future of mobility,” Stannard says.
Chief executive Lauren Streifer says the organisation’s growth reflects broader momentum across the sector.
“In just three years we have almost doubled the size of the association, reflecting the strong momentum across Australia and New Zealand’s public transport industry,” Streifer says.

“Through PTAANZ, Australia and New Zealand’s transport leaders work together at one top table across every sustainable mode – rail, bus, ferries, light rail and active transport – focused on delivering the future our communities and growing cities and regions deserve.”
Egis director advisory, operations and asset management Tommy Parker says joining the association will support collaboration across the industry.
“Egis is delighted to join the PTAANZ community. PTAANZ plays an important role in bringing together public transport authorities, operators and industry partners to help shape the future of mobility across Australia and New Zealand,” Parker says.
“For Egis, as a designer, integrator, operator and asset manager of public transport infrastructure, membership provides a valuable platform to collaborate with peers, contribute to industry conversations and share our global expertise.”
PTAANZ says it will continue to focus on research, policy engagement and industry collaboration to support integrated and sustainable transport networks across the region.
