Z prioritises 91 and diesel

Z Energy is making sure its service stations remain topped up with 91 octane petrol and diesel at the expense of 95 octane petrol.

It has taken the action after the distribution pipeline between Marsden Point and the Wiri Refinery in Auckland was damaged.

As of yesterday afternoon, 13 Z Energy service stations had run out of 95, the NZ Herald reports.

“As a result of this deliberate focus, a few service stations have run out 95 octane petrol. However, all grades of fuel are being trucked into the city and sites will be replenished soon,” the company says.

Z’s Caltex stations appear unaffected at this stage.

BP and Mobil stations have confirmed they aren’t rationing 95 octane petrol.
