Lumley have appointed a dedicated senior heavy motor assessor to service the lower North Island, based out of Palmerston North.

Sean Jansen Van Vuuren is making the move from a senior position in the Auckland-based motor vehicle claims team, where he has eight years of experience.

Lumley commercial motor assessing manager, Alan Lacey, says Sean’s background – which saw him originally train in the vehicle repair trade – will greatly enhance the company’s services in the area.

“This will give us the opportunity to develop closer relationships with customers in the area, as well as their brokers,” says Lacey.

“Sean is already familiar with the Lumley process and systems in place, and it won’t take him long to adjust to the area and learn about the suppliers and repairers he will work with.”

Prior to Sean’s appointment, heavy motor assessors for the region were outsourced, or saw a Lumley representative flown in.

“This arrangement worked well and we were comfortable doing it, but it’s not the same as having someone with the company knowledge and values on the ground,” says Lacey.

“Sean will enhance our branch capabilities with his vast expertise, and he is interested in getting involved with some of the more technical repairs.”
