Police do not understand the reason for stealing the septic tanker, or where it is headed, but are asking members of the public to keep an eye out and report any sightings directly to them.

The truck is distinctive with a blue cab and a bright yellow tank with the words “BARRY DELL PLUMBING” written on the side.

There have been a number of reported sightings of the truck heading north on SH1 towards Christchurch throughout yesterday.

Police would like to hear from anyone who knows who these two males are and ask them to contact their local police station.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
