Fire Safety officers and Police are investigating a blaze which damaged four buses at Go Wellingtons Kilbirnie depot this morning.
Fire Service shift manager Jan Wills told the New Zealand Herald that firefighters were called to the bus terminal in Onepu Rd at 2.10am to find four buses on fire.
One passenger bus was well ablaze when the first crew arrived on the scene, says Wills. Three more buses were discovered burning at the Kilbirnie bus terminal.
Wellington Police Inspector Marty Parker says the blaze had left vehicles damaged in the bus company’s fleet but at this stage, it was not known if it was suspicious.
