Penske New Zealand has expanded its national network, signing three new truck parts and service dealers in Whangarei, Gisborne and Blenheim.

Total Parts and Service (TPS) in Gisborne, Whangarei Diesels, and On Site Mechanical Repairs in Blenheim will support MAN Truck & Bus, Western Star Trucks and Detroit.

TPS managing director David Scammell, who founded TPS over 15 years ago, says the move lifts local capability.

“The team at TPS and I are thrilled to add the power of Penske to our service offering to customers in the Gisborne region,” he says.

“By adding the MAN, Western Star, and Detroit brands, our increased offering to customers is a win for them and us.”

Whangarei Diesels dealer principal Joel Cleaver says the partnership caps a long-held ambition.

“It was always my childhood dream to be a diesel mechanic and open my own business. I’ve always loved the sound of a Detroit engine.

“Through the good times and the challenges, I have always focused on customer support and being there for those who rely on me to keep their business moving.”

Formed nearly a decade ago, On Site Mechanical Repairs specialises in heavy equipment across Marlborough.

Director Ben McMaster says with over forty years of combined experience, the team operates with a mantra to “do it once and do it right”.

“We’re very proud to partner with Penske and provide our current and future customers with premium products that complement our current offering.”

Penske New Zealand general manager Kevin Smith says the additions strengthen support for transport operators.

“With these new partnerships, customers across New Zealand can be confident that wherever their travels take them, they will have the support they need to keep them going,” he says.

“With expanded network coverage, our dedicated Penske dealer support team, unmatched warranty offering, and low-cost repair and maintenance packages, there has never been a better time to buy an MAN or Western Star.”

Penske New Zealand’s dealer network has been further bolstered by two key appointments – national aftersales support manager and dealer support manager – filled by Andrew Hodgkinson and Warren Smith, respectively.

As national aftersales support manager, Hodgkinson leads technical support, repair and maintenance contracts, training, dealer support, and sales support teams. And as dealer support manager, Smith works alongside the dealer network to deliver bespoke commercial vehicle solutions to customers.
