Truck and trailer unit manufacturer Mills-Tui is now under new ownership.
Dean and Carey-Lee Purves have recently taken over the Rotorua-based business which has been operating for more than 30 years.
The company designs and builds a range of heavy transport equipment such as logging gear, tippers, emergency vehicles and other specialised units.
Dean comes to the business with years of industry experience having started his career as a diesel mechanic.

His last role was as commercial vehicles general manager at Fleet Partners NZ.
Building “good quality gear” and continuing business as usual will be the direction, he says.
The business is an “iconic New Zealand transport brand” that’s gone “under the radar” for some time.
“It’s an opportunity to put its name up in lights again,” he says.
All 20 staff will stay on board including engineering manager Jeff Miller and production manager Hamilton Sheck. Carey-Lee will take on administration duties.
The company is also looking for more welders and fabricators to join the team.

this is awesome to see 🙂 my grandad manu tuanui was the original owner of this company (originally tui trailers) and he would be proud to see it succeeding 🙂
