DT Driver Training has produced a logbook and work-time course designed to provide a cost-effective online alternative to sending a person to an off-site course.
It helps companies ensure that their drivers know how to fill out their logbooks and calculate their work time, and therefore avoid fines and demerits.
“NZTA recently changed the logbook rules again, so now is the time to ensure your drivers are aware of their obligations,” says DT director Darren Cottingham.
“Company managers can monitor driver progress through the modules and create a certificate when the driver has finished,” says Cottingham.
The course explains how to fill out the logbook correctly and identify mistakes with a full 6-day sample cumulative work period and over 10 more examples. It covers variations, secondary employment, penalties, exemptions, employer obligations, calculating work time, unavoidable delays and more.
Used in conjunction with the existing fatigue module, it can assist drivers studying towards Unit Standard 24089 Demonstrate knowledge of fatigue management, work time, and driver logbook requirements.
At only $25 it’s affordable for any driver who is concerned about the impact of logbook fines on their ability to drive or their employer’s rating in the operator rating system.
