The NZ Transport Agency contact centre has reopened to customers, following the evacuation of the Palmerston North office on June 13.

All phone lines are open during standard hours, except for the tolling line, which will have reduced hours and will close at 6pm on weekdays instead of 8pm.

NZTA says contact centre staff support is limited and asks customers to be patient while the support team gets up and running.

After it was revealed the Palmerston North office is earthquake prone, staff were evacuated, and the building remains closed.

The contact centre is operating from a temporary site until new accommodation is secured.
