Former Chorus chief executive Mark Ratcliffe will take temporary control of the NZ Transport Agency from early next year.
Ratcliffe will take over as interim chief executive from departing boss Fergus Gammie until a permanent replacement is found.
Gammie resigned after it was revealed NZTA hadn’t been keeping a close enough eye on dodgy vehicle inspectors, resulting in a series of suspensions.
“Mark is a highly experienced CEO with considerable expertise in running critical national infrastructure. He was the CEO of Chorus from 2008 when it was part of Telecom and through its demerger, before leaving in 2017.” NZTA chairman Michael Stiassny says.
NZTA system design and delivery general manager Brett Gliddon will be acting chief executive from January 1-13 2019, until Ratcliffe starts on January 14.
