NZI has appointed Ian Taylor as national manager, motor, with the role taking effect earlier this month.
Taylor steps into the position with expanded responsibility across the insurer’s commercial motor portfolio. In addition to continuing to lead the commercial motor portfolio team, overseeing pricing, and product, he also has responsibility for the underwriting and distribution functions.
“These teams manage our largest fleet customers and their brokers, and provide our distribution networks with underwriting expertise, pricing support, and bespoke product solutions where needed,” Taylor says.
“I’m delighted to return to a more market facing role.
“I’ve always enjoyed working closely with brokers and customers to develop strong insurance and risk management solutions, and I’m very much looking forward to getting out in the market again and refreshing those relationships.”
Taylor brings extensive experience across New Zealand’s transport sector, having worked with customers ranging from small and medium-sized operators through to some of the country’s largest fleets.
The role also includes responsibility for maintaining relationships with key transport industry groups, NZTA, and risk management specialists –– “all critical partnerships in delivering strong outcomes for the sector,” he says.
“This role is perfectly positioned to ensure our customers get the maximum benefit from our FleetFit services and broader risk management offerings.
“I’m excited to be working alongside the team as we deliver on our commercial motor strategy with a strong focus on keeping drivers safe, going beyond traditional insurance, and supporting our broker partners and customers.”
