Mercedes-Benz Vans has signed a major agreement with Keith Andrews Group, shifting responsibility for van distribution and servicing operations in New Zealand to the commercial vehicle dealer.
The move marks a significant change in how Mercedes-Benz Vans operates in the country, with the marque saying the transition will strengthen its local presence and provide a platform for future growth.
The existing dealer network will continue to service all Mercedes-Benz Vans customers across New Zealand under the new arrangement.
“Keith Andrews Group is excited to partner with Mercedes-Benz as the General Distributor for Mercedes-Benz Vans in New Zealand,” Keith Andrews Group chief executive Darren Evans says.
“We are honoured by the trust Mercedes-Benz Vans has placed in our team. We are committed to delivering great service to our customers and dealer partners, and to supporting the continued success of these world-class vehicles across the country.”
Mercedes-Benz says the deal reaffirms its commitment to the New Zealand market.
“This transition marks an important step for Mercedes-Benz Vans in New Zealand and sets the stage for continued success in the market,” Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia/Pacific managing director Diane Tarr says.
“We appreciate the dedication and expertise of every party involved, as well as the collaborative efforts that made this possible. With Keith Andrews Group’s proven market knowledge and commitment to excellence, we are confident that our business, operations and customers are in good hands for the future.”
Under the new model, Mercedes-Benz will continue to supply vans and parts to the New Zealand market through the Keith Andrews Group, with the ability to customise vehicles for local conditions.
Founded in Auckland in 1963, Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has provided commercial and passenger vans for more than 60 years, most recently expanding its lineup to include the fully electric eSprinter.
The Keith Andrews Group, which began in Whangārei in 1991, is New Zealand’s largest commercial vehicle dealership and already supports Daimler brands including Fuso, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The company now operates across the country and employs more than 380 people.
