Australian hydraulics specialist, Mega Pacific, currently distributed here by NZ Tipping Systems in Dunedin, has purchased Mount Manganui based CC Hydraulics (CCH).
Established in 1994, CCH is the third largest supplier of hydraulic equipment in New Zealand and has ties to key suppliers in Europe and Asia, on which Mega Pacific plans to build.
Mega Pacific has grown to around 30 branches and outlets throughout Australia since 1985; it distributes a range of world leading hydraulics brands, as well as manufacturing its own product.
Outgoing general manager and owner Ray Nielsen will be replaced by Mike Saunders, currently CCH’s national sales manager.
“Originally the only changes to the running of the company were going to be the introduction of the Mega Pacific brand,” says Nielsen.
“However now we know there are going to be a number of administrative type changes, as well as two new upper level staff coming in the new year.”
While details on the deal are scarce, Mega Pacific general manager hew Hayter hinted at growth opportunities.
“Our mission is to continue to strive to be number one in every market we operate in,” he says.
“CCH has the same ideals as we do, which is to build a strong reputation of reliability, integrity and innovation, in order to become the first choice for all users of hydraulics equipment, both small and large in New Zealand.
“With a stronger distribution network and extensive resources to utilise, we couldn’t have imagined a better company to have partnered up with.
“The emergence of Mega Pacific as a manufacturer over the last few years also meant that we could take our product offering to New Zealand.
“So far, our range of PTO equipment and hydraulics components, plus the TipX range of tipping and safety systems that were launched in New Zealand, have been well received.”
