Porirua-based Mana Transport has been placed into liquidation owing more than $3 million to secured and unsecured creditors.
Preliminary documents from liquidator Rodgers Reidy show that the company owes employees $105,000 and the IRD $775,015.
Trade creditors are owed more than $1.3 million. A general security agreement of $1.05 million was verified and ranked in favour of GE Capital Limited by the liquidator, and this security interest has seen the financier repossess all 35 removal and freight vehicles, two vans, a forklift, and the company directors personal vehicle.
Accounts receivable come to more than $500,000 but some of the company’s debtors have withheld payments in recent months. All Mana Transport employees were terminated on appointment of the liquidators.
Mana merged with A-One movers more than a year ago. The company specialised in furniture removals, and fragile freight, and operated a fleet of 35 vehicles from depots in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
Both companies have now been liquidated.
