Transport giant Mainfreight has issued a short statement to the stock exchange that it has uncovered alleged ‘misappropriation’ in its Daily Freight subsidiary.
It says the misappropriation was perpetrated by a credit controller, and the amount is, “not of a material nature to Mainfreight.”
Evidence gathered by the investigation has been passed on to NZ Police and prosecution is underway.
The company says Daily Freight’s control systems have been reviewed and tightened.
