Distributed in Australia and New Zealand by SmartTyres, MaxTT tyre treatment is a multipurpose liquid tyre sealant and coolant, injected into each tyre through the air valve.
The non-toxic New Zealand manufactured product has undergone rigorous testing, according to its manufacturer, and met US EPA standards.
Its function is to coat the inside tread of the tyre, thereby preventing punctures, maintaining correct air pressure, and lowering the temperature of the tyre casing.
By doing this, MaxTT contributes to enhanced fuel efficiency, reduced tyre wear and replacement, reduced engine wear, reduced downtime, reduced rim corrosion, and the reduction of visits to the air pump.
There are three types of MaxTT tyre sealant for different applications:
High-speed MaxTT Hy-Way for road going heavy commercial and passenger vehicles,
Sub 70 MAxTT for off-road equipment and slow moving vehicles,
and Xtreme MaxTT, for mining and earthmoving equipment operating in high-temperature environments.
Tractors, bobcats, forklifts, trailers, trucks, caravans, and ride-on mowers, as well as agricultural machinery, are all suitable applications for this product says the manufacturer.
MaxTT also includes rust inhibitors that will protect rims and steel belts from corrosion, as well as anti-fungal agents to protect tyre casings from rotting.
According to figures released by Shell research laboratories, when testing a 36PSI tyre, under-inflating such a unit by as little as 5PSI (15%) will see a 22% tread loss and a 3.1% decrease in fuel economy.
Double that under-inflation figure to 10PSI (27%) per tyre and the tread loss increased to 37% and lost fuel economy increases by 6.25%.
SmartTyres says MaxTT is unique being a non-toxic, high-grade tyre sealant, that has an excellent cooling capability, seals large holes, and doesn’t break down at high speeds.
The product contains a propylene glycol base as used in food and pharmaceuticals, which is non-hazardous, non-flammable, and is easily washed away with water.
More importantly, MaxTT is recyclable, and it can withstand a wide variance of temperature from minus 40 degrees celsius to more than 120 degrees Celsius.
In tubeless tyres, the manufacturer says that MaxTT is guaranteed to seal air leaks and punctures up to 6mm, in 2- to 8-ply tyres, and 12mm for 10-ply plus tyres, for the entire legal tread life of the casing.
