DSC_0037-(1)While the arrival of new and used heavy commercial vehicles (over 3500kg GVM) has slowed, new and used light commercial vehicle arrivals continue to flood in across New Zealand wharves.

There were 2167 new light commercial vehicles (under 3500kg GVM) that arrived in October 2015 bringing the year-to-date tally to 25,652, only 207 vehicles behind the full year’s tally in 2014.

There were a total of 25,859 new light commercial vehicle arrivals in 2014, so it is more than likely that figure will be bettered by the year ending December 30.

There were 331 new heavy trucks (over 3500kg GVM) in the month of October, bringing the year to date tally to 2,676. It is looking more and more unlikely that this years tally of new heavy trucks will pass last years’ total figure of 3710 units.

Used light commercial arrival numbers (under 3500kg GVM) continue to flow in strongly, with 515 units being recorded in October, and a year to date figure of 4337. It is likely that last years record figure of 5406 arrivals could be bettered by the end of December.

Used heavy commercials (over 3500kg) saw 61 arrivals in October for a year to date number of 798. Last years total of 898 units also looks in danger of being overtaken.

There were 8623 new cars and 12,388 used cars cross the wharves in October, with a year to date tally of 84,421 for new, and 123,847 for used. This compares to the full year of 2014, that saw 100,594 new and 136,797 used arrivals, so it will be a close race to the finish this year ti see if last years numbers are bettered.
