Komatsu Forest is set to purchase Log Max, a Swedish manufacturer of forest machinery attachments.
Darren Ralph, sales and marketing manager for Porter Group – who currently distribute Log Max – told DIESELtalk that business will continue as usual.
“Porter Equipment will continue to distribute Log Max,” says Ralph. “As far as we know the product lines will remain as is.”
Log Max offer a range of simple, reliable harvester heads in small to large sizes.
Komatsu Forest say these are mutually complementary to their own product in terms of harvesting type and tree sizes.
The company is looking forward to increasing sales of forestry equipment as a result of the expanded harvester head range.
Komatsu Forest AB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd. It will acquire Log Max AB and Log Max, Inc., Log Max AB’s US sales company from Log Max International Holding AB.
