KiwiRail boss Peter Reidy is set to leave and take up the role as chief executive for Fletcher Building’s construction division.
Reidy will start the new job in early November after four years at the state owned enterprise. It will see him lead projects such as infrastructure and roading.
KiwiRail board members have acknowledged Reidy’s “significant contribution particularly in the areas of customer service, commercial performance, improvements in health and safety and leading a step-change in culture”.
“He leaves behind a revitalised and strong management team, a positive ‘One KiwiRail’ culture in our 3400 people and an organisation which is primed for growth,” the board says.
Fletcher Building chief executive Ross Taylor says the company is focused on improving its construction division and Reidy is up to the task with “a strong track record of leading infrastructure businesses”.
